Our Silk Carpet Workshop has initiated a unique program to make our business resemble a family of carpet experts who work in an atmosphere of high morale. For that reason, we have instituted benefits which improve the lives of the workers, and, therefore, also improve the quality of the carpets. We believe that it takes a happy worker to make a beautiful carpet.

Initially, we give each of our carpet-weaving employees, most of whom are women 18 years of age and older, a four-month training apprenticeship during which she learns all phases of the carpet-making business. After completion of the training, the employee is free to either continue working in our shop, to seek work elsewhere, or to weave carpets by herself at home.

|
If an employee marries, she is given one month of paid vacation. When an employee has a child, she is given 3 years of vacation at full salary, This also happens again if the employee has other children.

|
|
We welcome other suggestions to make our workshops happy and productive. We have parties, awards and even competitions to determine who can make the most number of carpet knots per minute!
